It was late September and all the less visited regions of my garden have been fully conquered by this summer's spiders. Just the usual little ones.
Most spiders stick to a corner somewhere. Their webs are stable, secluded and safe. They seem happy.
Few Spiders are different. They may have similarly sized webs as the other group but one or two of their anchor points stretch between two trees that are far apart. These are adventurous spiders. Spiders who trade stability and safeness to sway in the breeze, to catch the rain and to be kissed by the sun.
I spent a few years building my stable and safe web in the corner. Sadly, these walls that were meant to protect me, now feel like a prison. So here, out in the open, rocked by the breeze, staring across a giant gap, I put on my flying goggles and... Leap!
